Kane Mortgage, Inc. was founded in 2002 by Kane Smeltz. From the humble beginnings where Kane handled all of the various aspects of loan origination to loan closing himself, KMI has grown to a staff of nine. The KMI staff includes the Owner, four Mortgage Originators, two Processors, a Human Resource Manager and a Client Relations Specialist. In September 2012, the offices of KMI moved to their current location at 4755 Linglestown Rd.
In December 2012, Kane Mortgage Inc. obtained a license to function as a Mortgage Lender. KMI now has the highest mortgage origination license that is given by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to any type of financial institute. What this means is that KMI can expand their already large number of mortgage options and programs offered to every client.

Kane has worked in the mortgage industry since 1992. He started as a Management Trainee with Blazer Consumer Discount Company. He obtained his PA Mortgage Broker license in 2002. Kane thoroughly enjoys devising solutions for his clients that help them more than they ever anticipated. In Dec. 2012, Kane Mortgage Inc. acquired its mortgage lender license, allowing Kane and all of the professionals at KMI to expand the financial options open to every person who is interested in purchasing or refinancing a home.
Susan has been working in the mortgage industry since 1997, and has been a Mortgage Originator for all of those years. Susan enjoys working with her clients to help them find the perfect mortgage to meet their needs. Whether her clients are first-time home buyers, existing homeowners or are interested in refinance, she works closely with them throughout the entire mortgage process. Susan strives to provide honesty, integrity and the best possible service to all of her clients.
Alex began working in the mortgage industry in 1993 as an Originator. In 1995, he moved to wholesale lending and worked in that capacity for the next twelve years. He then returned to mortgage origination, a position for which he is very well-suited. Alex enjoys devising a plan that allows someone to purchase a home or refinance their current home and puts them in a better financial position.
Steve joined Kane Mortgage, Inc. in November 2016 and has more than fourteen years of experience in sales, consulting and customer service. Steve is a Shippensburg University graduate who studied finance and real estate. Prior to joining KMI, Steve was a successful licensed real estate agent. Communication and timeliness is key during the mortgage process and Steve’s past experience will allow him to offer the very best service to his clients.
Lois has been in the financial/mortgage industry for over 40 years. In addition to mortgage-related roles in commercial and consumer lending, she also worked as a teller, assistant branch manager, and construction loan department manager. She became interested in home ownership at a very young age, while assisting her father with the purchase of his first home. Lois thoroughly enjoys working in the mortgage industry. She achieves a great sense of satisfaction every time a borrower’s purchase is completed, especially first time homebuyers.
Keegan started his Internship at Kane Mortgage in May of 2022 following his attendance at The Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania in the Business program. He is excited to complete his internship in the Mortgage industry as a Loan Processor. He looks forward to developing his skills in Mortgage Loan Software, evaluation of financial documents, and gaining knowledge about Government Regulations. Keegan Is seeking to develop relationships with real estate agents, financial planners, individual borrowers and contractors. Keegan’s goal is to become a Licensed Loan Originator and serve various communities and individuals in reaching their goals.
Janet is a retired mortgage broker of 23 years and joined the Kane Mortgage Group in 2021 to continue her endeavors in mortgage origination. She has over 40 years total experience in the financial service industry. Janet takes pride in helping the challenged first time homebuyer achieve their dream of homeownership and the opportunity to help each homeowner achieve the best possible solution to their home needs.

Amy has been in the financial industry for over 25 years. She has been involved with everything from teller work to upper level management. Amy feels that working in this ever changing industry has been challenging but also very rewarding. The favorite part of her job is and will always be helping people with their financial needs.
